While Apple’s $3 Billion acquisition of Beats Electronics may not scream wear-ables, it is a noteworthy tick in the shape of things to come. Just as AT&T said it was on track to roll out VoLTE later this year, not to be outdone, Verizon said it, too, is going to roll out VoLTE this year. A ThinkSmallCell opinion piece questions popular notions of the scope and complexity of a small cell. At the Phoenix International Raceway, Qualcomm, Sprint and NASCAR teamed up to showed how a hyper-dense small cell network can maneuver in very heavy traffic. An iGR report concludes, and rightfully so, that, because the locations of small cell deployments vary so greatly, there is no single backhaul solution.
