April 30, 2015 — The second day of the Wireless Infrastructure Show held in Hollywood, Florida, saw things move pretty fast. It was time to catch up on what was left over from yesterday, mingle with old friends, and make some new ones. That is one of the things that the virtual world will never replace – the feeling of shaking the hand of those that I have worked with for decades. We talk about what is new and exciting as well as sometimes reminisce about the good old days.
But I digress. Back to reality and the activities of the second day.
Like I said, there was no slowing of the pace of the show. While the keynote addresses were a bit lighter than yesterday, they were still pretty good. Keynote speeches are one of the best ways to find out what is on the plates of the leading organizations, the FCC and where the industry is heading.
On the less tekky side there was there was the president’s reception, and the wireless industry gala. PCIA puts on a pretty good show. Hats off to the leadership and staff of PCIA for that…and the great food and atmosphere (oh, there was some fun too!).
As the closing of the show floor approached in the early PM, it gave me a chance to visit and discuss current issues. Some new and cool small cell solutions showed up – like a small cells that fit nicely on a light pole, and perfectly disguised, too. There were lots more, but come see for yourself next year.
And, of course, the sessions rocked on. (See my missive below)
