Multi-mode Enterprise Small Cells

Femtocells are hitting the big time. No longer that inconspicuous little box near computer central, femtocells have made it to the enterprise. Companies like Alcatel-Lucent (using a Qualcomm chipset), Ericsson, and Huawei promise product commercially available in 2015. These femtocells will have 3G, LTE, and Wi-Fi multi-mode – just what the enterprise ordered and easy to deploy.

Enterprise owners are coming around to understanding the value of having ubiquitous, full-spectrum wireless coverage within their ecosystem. However, only if it is cost effective, easy to deploy and implement. Look for this to ramp up sharply if these conditions are met.
