Two tragedies struck the tower climber community this week. First, a technician fell to his death from a cell tower owned by the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission water treatment plant in Damascus, Maryland.
The man, identified as Daniel Patrick Harrison, was employed by Marali Telecomm Systems. He was working on an AT&T project being managed by turfing vendor NEXIUS, according to Wireless Estimator.
In the second, Wireless Estimator reported that a technician in North Carolina was electrocuted while “rigging matting to be loaded onto a boom truck that used it to decommission an SBA Communications tower when the truck’s operator came in contact with an overhead power line.”
