The Eyes of Cisco are Upon SDN, IoT, Wi-Fi

June 25, 2015 — It was just announced that Cisco is undergoing a metamorphosis. After 20 years, the company is upping its game in three of the hottest areas in wireless: software defined networks, Internet of Things, and Wi-Fi.

I think the implications of this got lost in translation somewhere because there didn’t seem to be much hoopla over this.

To me, this is one of the bigger bombshells to drop lately. Why? Because this move, by this top-shelf player that is redirecting it focus on what if call the “hottest” areas of wireless speaks volumes of what the future will bring. They wouldn’t be doing this if they didn’t think that was the direction wireless is going – talk about validation.

Anyway, the details are all over the place if there is interest in further clarification of their metamorphosis.
