Melinda White, CEO of Transit Wireless, has been named a “Notable Woman in Tech” by Crain’s New York Business. The inaugural list celebrates the remarkable professional achievements of New York business leaders as well as their commitment to promoting diversity and giving back to their community.
“I am honored to be in the company of such incredible business leaders,” said Melinda White, CEO of Transit Wireless. “A leader is only as successful as the people around them, and this award recognizes the hard work of the entire Transit Wireless team.”
Transit Wireless’ work has improved the lives of New Yorkers and subway riders. Built without any cost to the public, the Transit Wireless network provides digital accessibility to all through its free service. The network also powers public safety initiatives including more than 3,000 help point kiosks in stations. Transit Wireless is a supporter of corporate social responsibility initiatives including Subway Reads, an annual campaign to promote literacy that offers free e-books to subway riders.
“We applaud Melinda’s well deserved recognition as a leader in tech,” said Louise Butler, Vice President of People at Transit Wireless. “It is a testament to her leadership, as well as her commitment to the communities we serve.”
